Account Executive

As a result of continued growth, we have an immediate need for an Account Executive to join our sales team. The Account Executive can be based in either our Owings Mills or Silver Springs, Maryland office.

The Account Executive is responsible for hunting, prospecting, building relationships and closing sales. The Account Executive will partner with the other members of the team including business development and solutions architects to sustain a superior experience for the customer and success as an individual contributor as well as a member of the team. We are looking for someone with strong solutions-based sales experience in the technical/technology arena.  

Responsibilities 

  • Partner with the business development team to prospect and develop strategic plans of action for building new business
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations on Expedient solutions and products
  • Host and attend networking events, educational lunches, individualized data center tours that highlight specific areas that will meet client needs, etc.
  • Determine and understand the individual needs of the client in order to create a business partnership with that client and grow revenue on both sides
  • Understand and meet/exceed monthly sales targets and quotas consistently

Requirements

  • 3 to 4 years of successful solutions-based, business to business selling with the ability to produce examples of those successful sales
  • Experience selling in the Baltimore/Silver Springs business community and familiarity with business in and around the geographical area
  • Ability to provide sales numbers from previous B2B and/or solutions-based sales positions that demonstrate success and meeting/exceeding sales targets and quotas

  • Able to prioritize work load and adhere to a monthly quota and pre-set sales volume
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Sales experience in a technology related industry preferably Iaas, Cloud Computing or managed services
  • A self-driven and self-motivated work ethic is absolutely necessary
  • Experience and success selling through long sales cycles and large complex selling environment
  • Ability to quickly learn complex concepts related to technology, infrastructure, various platforms and applications 
  • This position requires some local travel by car and occasional travel to other market cities
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen  

Account Executives receive initial and on-going training on our solutions and the IaaS arena - this is a fast-paced role and will require a self-motivated professional, capable of and willing to learn through self-study.
