IT Project Manager

The Project Manager is the primary point-of-contact for planning and delivering complex services and solutions to our clients. The position works closely with regional team members and manages engineering resources to orchestrate delivery of cloud solutions and managed services.

This role is responsible for maintaining client satisfaction during the delivery and implementation of the services that our clients have purchased and success relies heavily on the candidate’s ability to plan, communicate, and set and maintain clear expectations with everyone involved. The Project Manager will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of project planning and delivering complex information technology solutions, including: system architecture and design, migration strategies, and roll-out planning.

Successful candidates will have experience as a Project Manager in highly technical environments and will benefit from knowledge of cloud computing, virtual infrastructure, software, and having successfully project-managed multiple implementations with migration experience to completion. They will embrace technical challenges with creativity and must have strong communication skills as they will interact with clients daily.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage new installations and large service expansions including managed services, data center, network connectivity, and virtualization technologies
  • Work with clients to migrate their existing environments into new shared public, and/or private dedicated platforms
  • Act in an authoritative manner to facilitate and manage projects including, but not limited to:
  • Post-sale design and migration scoping meetings with engineering resources and the client.
  • Orchestration of Internal resources (human resources, consumables, etc.)
  • Estimated revenue forecasting based on project milestones
  • Appropriately scope, plan, execute, track, manage, communicate progress, and close projects
  • Maintain accountability for changes to the project scope including development and execution of project change requests
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of the implementation is generated, maintained through project life cycle, and delivered with the implemented services for effective hand-off and transition to the Operations Support Center (OSC)

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in technical discipline
  • 5 years of experience as a Project Manager within Information Technology or related field
  • The ideal candidate would possess experience managing projects encompassing many of the following technologies or disciplines:
  • Data Center migrations
  • Network provisioning and cutovers
  • IT service & software implementations
  • Agile/ SCRUM Project Management experience is a plus, but not required

Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and be productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of project management life-cycle
  • Strong client service acumen
  • Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations
  • Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to be available for occasional night and weekend implementation projects when required
  • Travel is not required, options to meet with clients are available.
