Storage Systems Engineer
This is not a role that develops software. This is not a data engineer. This is a storage engineer that will ensure that Expedient cloud hosting, DR, backups and connectivity remain dependable by developing strategies to prevent failures and minimize and/or eliminate downtime.
While very much focused on technical storage strategies, this is a highly collaborative position that works with other technical teams and clients; the ability to justify your thought processes with data in a professional, thoughtful manner is a requirement to success in this role.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Expertise in storage technologies such as object, block, and file storage
- Experience using APIs with storage platforms
- Familiarity with storage protocols including NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, S3
- Experience in cross-functional team collaboration
- Working knowledge of:
- storage hardware architectures
- data center, wiring, and facilities
- networking protocols, structure, and design
- hypervisors and virtualization technologies
- DevOps/Automation tools and concepts
- agile methodologies, sprint management
- Experience in customer service and vendor management
- Must be self-motivated and capable of prioritizing and executing multiple high priority initiatives
- Ability to effectively work with other teams and accept challenges with a collaborative approach
- Experience with Dell-EMC, VAST, NetApp, Pure Storage, Nimble Storage, Cloudian, VMware vSAN, Nutanix, or Ctera a plus
- Experience with Cohesity, Commvault and data management systems
- Relevant certifications from storage vendors
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implementation of storage products – block, file, and object
- Design automated health and capacity reports for proactive problem resolution
- Document and maintain knowledgebase of storage deployments
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve storage-related issues
- Design and implement security measures to protect data stored on all platforms
- Propose and lead analyses of alternative physical and logical layer designs and architectures, leading to increased availability, performance, scalability, and efficiency
- Ensure infrastructure is designed and architected for full-lifecycle operability and serviceability
