We are hiring multiple Tier 1 IT Analysts in our Lewis Center/ Columbus, Ohio Operations Support Center (OSC). These full-time positions will be responsible for monitoring our systems/networks as well as responding to requests and questions from clients and Expedient staff using our ticketing system.

You will receive fully paid training (including industry certifications) and hands-on experience with a variety of technical platforms including virtualization technology, networking, data protection, Windows, disaster recovery, Linux/Unix and infrastructure. 

In addition to supporting clients and staff, the Tier 1 IT Analysts will assist the entry-level support associates in the data center with escalation questions as needed. You will have a chance to share your knowledge and experience with your team as well as build your own expertise.

The Schedule and Shift Premium: There are multiple shifts available.  These positions are all required to work on-site in the Lewis Center data center facility.
The front half schedule is Sunday through Tuesday, alt. Wednesdays from 7:30am-7:30pm or overnight 7:30pm-7:30am local time.                     
The back half schedule is Thursday through Saturday, alt. Wednesdays from 7:30am-7:30pm or overnight 7:30pm-7:30am local time.               
The overnight flex shift is Monday through Friday from 7:30pm to 3:30am local time with the ability to adjust for coverage purposes.                                              
These positions include an additional bonus, paid out upon completion of the initial training. Additionally, lunch breaks are fully paid for all 12-hour shifts.

Professional Development & Training: Expedient places high value on professional development and education.  We will cover the costs up front for our Tier 1 IT Analyst to obtain relevant technical certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, A+, Network + etc.  Certain certifications that are higher in difficulty to obtain have attached bonuses for completion.

Rate of Pay: The hourly rate of pay is closely based on your technical experience and knowledge, work experience and/or academic experience. This role seeks a passionate candidate who is interested in growing their career in IT with Expedient.  Range of pay of $37,000 - $43,000 per year, paid out hourly, can vary depending on market and shift.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Academic degree or training in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Industry certifications are also highly desired (CCNA, CCENT, CompTIA, Network+, A+, etc.)
  • Demonstrated level of competency with internet technologies including:
    • Principles of networking, Cisco, Juniper
    • Windows operating system
    • Familiarity with basic UNIX commands
    • DNS and WEB services
  • Experience in a client support role
  • Strong understanding of the value of customer service
  • Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screens
Responsibilities:
  • Process and prioritize client phone calls, emails and job ticket questions and/or requests for service-related assistance
  • Monitor and proactively identify service impacting events
  • Escalate problems to the appropriate engineering disciplines within the organization or external vendors as required to achieve resolution
  • Follow strict security protocols to allow client access requests inside the data center using specific access control criteria
Physical Tasks/Demands:
  • Sitting - stationary/seated position during the work day in order to check in visitors
  • Walking - must be able escort visitors to their equipment; must be able to walk the entire perimeter of the physical plant/data center several times during the shift in order to conduct hands-on assessments and to ensure building safety compliance by checking doors, checking temperature in various areas of the server room/data center
  • Lifting - frequently lifts lightweight items and occasionally lifts heavyweight materials such as equipment, parts, computer and server hardware
  • Dexterity - must be able to lock/unlock security cages, operate security kiosk and print out visitor badges, operate loading dock equipment; must be able to climb and balance oneself on a ladder, must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl into tight places to access computer hardware, to conduct safety checks, to move equipment, install equipment, etc. as required
