Staff Accountant

Expedient is hiring a Staff Accountant to join the team in the Pittsburgh headquarters on the North Shore/Nova Place.

The Staff Accountant manages the payment of invoices, reconciles accounts payable to the general ledger, handles tracking, recording and managing of fixed assets and related service agreements and will help with other account reconciliations and special accounting projects as needed. 


Responsibilities:

  • Review vendor invoices and check requests to ensure approvals are in place    
  • Manage accounts payable processes for check payment, invoice batch processing and posting transactions to the general ledger system
  • Perform reconciliations of the accounts payable system to the general ledger
  • Research accounts payable issues as needed
  • Prepare and audit 1099 vendor status
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Assist with fixed asset management processes and perform reconciliations to subsystems as needed
  • Prepare other general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations as needed
  • Perform accounting research as needed
  • Assist with the yearly budgeting process
  • Assist in providing documentation for internal/external audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting with three to five years of experience in field of accounting
  • Experience in accounts payable processing and fixed assets
  • Experience processing general ledger entries and working with the general ledger system
  • Experience preparing account reconciliations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Excel (pivot table and v-look ups)
  • Experience with and ability to learn accounting system software
  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask to complete assignments timely and accurately
  • Strong organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity and work standards
  • Able to collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Self-starter. Ability to work independently as well as partner with teams
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug screen
