Cloud Solutions Architect

We have an immediate need for a Cloud Solutions Architect to support our Channel Partner organization and partners in providing managed IaaS solutions to end clients.  This is a collaborative position that requires a strong understanding of solution design, business and financial benefits of technology and client interaction. The Cloud Solutions Architect will interact with the Expedient Sales, Product Operations, Partner Growth Managers, Partner Account Executives, and Service Delivery/Support teams by providing experience, industry perspective and expert-level knowledge to build and deliver solutions to the client.  This is THE subject matter expert resource for our channel partner support teams and partners.  Salary for this position includes competitive base of an approximate range of $95k to $140k plus commissions.   Compensation is based on expertise, years of experience and learning curve expectations.

Extensive experience in system administration, virtualization, storage, and networking with an understanding of the underlying protocols and standards used in the operation of those technologies. This is a client-facing role so great communication skills are needed. Industry standard certifications are also a plus.

 Responsibilities

  • Partner with channel partner support teams to visit new and existing partners, developing relationships with their technical and executive members
  • Review and evaluate prospective and existing client environments, recommending solutions and technology to meet both their existing and anticipated needs
  • Assist with developing quotes for solution(s) with technical validation
  • Attend trade shows and participate as a speaker in marketing events
  • Develop and present solution design documents and presentations to prospective and existing clients
  • Partner Growth Manager and Partner Account Executive training, including participation in workshops and development of technical sales documentation and testing instruments

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in solution architecture and/or sales engineering, solid experience in infrastructure administration or design. Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals, up to C-level executives, with varying technical skills
  • Experience with VMware Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies: vSphere, vCloud Director, NSX, and vSAN
  • Familiarity or experience with hyperscale platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Familiarity or experience with the following technologies would be beneficial: Linux, Windows, Juniper, Arista, Dell, Nutanix, Compellent, Zerto, Citrix, Commvault, and Cohesity
  • Familiarity with Cloud Native technologies: Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline OR qualifying experience and certifications such as VCP, VCAP, VCIX, VCDX, AWS Solutions Architect preferred
  • Strong understanding of switching, routing, firewalling, and load balancing
  • Knowledge of storage technologies. Understanding of concepts such as RAID and Erasure Coding
  • Virtualization technologies with a focus on administration AND design and architecture
  • Network Security, Backup and backup related technology experience
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery technologies and Disaster Recovery testing and planning
  • An understanding of database technologies 
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have a valid driver's license and provide proof of current personal automobile insurance to comply with company policy
